Goodbye, Mace27?

It’s nearing the end of the year and it may be nearing the end of Mace27.com’s run. This site has sort of become the old relative of the party. You know, the one who just sits in the chair in the corner and everyone at the get-together comes over and says “hi, how are you?” as if they’re talking to a 5-year old and hope, only hoping the response isn’t another question so they can slowly mosey back over to the veggie dip where everyone else is interacting. Anyway, even I don’t pay much attention to good ol’ Mace27.com anymore. If people want to know what I’m up to these days, they will check out either Mestew.com, CreativeMace.com, Facebook, or just text me. We had a strong run but this site is slowly petering out. It might be time to say goodbye.

Man pistol-whipped on Lincoln Park street

Two men and a woman have been arrested after police said one of them pistol-whipped a man during an attempted robbery in Lincoln Park late last night. The three suspects approached a 32-year-old man shortly before midnight in the 2700 block of North Hampden Court, police said. One of the male attackers, armed with a semi-automatic pistol, struck the victim in the ear with the barrel of the weapon and demanded money, police continued. The victim broke free and was able to flag down a police car. He was expected to be treated and lacerations to his ear and released from a hospital. The suspects fled in a car, but later abandoned it and began running when police spotted them. Officers gave chase and took them into custody. (Read article)

I was inspired to put some Glory Days movies online. I hope you enjoy this PG-13 movie we made back in high school. It’s PG-13 due to adult language and mild violence, viewer discretion is advised.

24-Hour Campaign for Township Supervisor

~~My friends…~~ Readers of Mace27, I am starting a 24-hour campaign for Comstock Township Supervisor. It will be a difficult battle between incumbent Tim Hudson and opponent Sue Fritz, but I think I have a small opportunity. So you’re sayin’ there’s a chance! All I’m really looking for is some votes. That’s right, when the final election is all said and done, tallies are counted, and results are published, I want to see more than one vote for yours truly. So get out there on Election Day and if you’re a member of Comstock Township, write-in Mason Everett and make me proud.

Ike makes it rain on Comstock

Hurricane Ike made his presence known in the midwest this weekend. He rained non-stop in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. I’m sure he rained a lot of places, but I was able to witness his mess firsthand in these three states. There’s still serious flooding in Downtown Comstock, my poor little hometown. I went down there today with my mother to check it out.
