Texas Vacation Pictures (2/3)

Friday, April 4th, 2008

Last year we had such a good time in Lakeland for Spring Training, we wanted to do it again. The problem was we couldn’t find a good weekend in March to fly to Florida except Easter weekend. And that weekend, flights were over $300 and that wasn’t going to do it. The only weekend that looked good for some pre-season baseball was the final weekend in March, but the Tigers were playing in Houston, not Lakeland. So, after a brief discussion, we decided to make a nice vacation out of Houston and Galveston, Texas. I think we made a great choice.

Galveston Vacation Photos (1/3)

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

I don’t have much time to share stories of extensive airport searches, Texas pride songs, or drinking with townies, but I do have the first set of photos up to share. Hopefully tonight I can replace this boring explanation with something a little more thrilling and more photos from Houston as well.

NCAA: Down to the Final Four

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

We’ve gone from 16 down to four. If you wanted excitement, I hope you watched the previous weekend because this past weekend didn’t offer as much. Actually, this is the first time that the Final Four have been all #1 seeds since the seeding came into play decades ago. The highlight, at least for me, was I was at the Memphis win over Texas. It may have seemed like a blowout on tv, but it was sweet in person. Anyway, onto the top 10 (and me):

1. Suzanne Cascarano - 77
1. Emily Taylor - 77
1. Jason DeBruyn - 77
4. Mike Giddings - 76
4. Melissa Strzelinski - 76
6. Dustin Foster - 75
6. Shirley Everett - 75
8. Bridget Fry - 74
9. Jason Taylor - 73
9. Pat Riley - 73
21. Me - 66
