Maybe the best commercial on right now

Monday, March 24th, 2008

I never thought this would be me… well, I knew I’d never be Asian, but the job thing. Do what makes you happy. It seems so easy, doesn’t it? That’s why things are going to change in 2008. As a wise man once said, “Things are going to start happening to me now.” Ok, so it was Navin R. Johnson that said that, but I think he was really onto something.

Stephen Curry and the boys from Davidson celebrate their victory over heavily favored Georgetown

Apparently I didn’t yell at Duke enough. But then again, after watching them in the 2nd round, they played like crap and didn’t deserve to win. Anyway, after Round 2, here’s the top 10 (and me):

1. Kurt Law - 48
2. Shirley Everett - 47
2. Jason DeBruyn - 47
4. Melissa Strzelinski - 46
5. Chad Howard - 44
5. Emily Helt-Taylor - 44
5. Greg Krause - 44
8. Mike Giddings - 43
8. Pat Riley - 43
8. Brandon Clark - 43
25. Me - 39

Don’t let this top 10 make you think it will finish this way. Though Kurt may be in first, he also had Georgetown winning it all. Ouch. After watching all the games this weekend, I’m still thinking North Carolina looks like the strongest team. I know they’ve only played Mount St. Mary’s and Arkansas, but ask the Hoyas what their thoughts on Davidson was before the game.

NCAA: After Round 1

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

After the first round, here’s the top 10 (and my sad score):

1. Pat Riley - 25
1. Shirley Everett - 25
3. Melissa Strzelinski - 24
3. Matt Carlisle - 24
3. Kurt Law - 24
3. Greg Krause - 24
7. Jason DeBruyn - 23
7. Chad Meints - 23
7. Jason Taylor - 23
7. Brandon Clark - 23
33. Me - 19

There’s already been some great games, upsets, and yelling at the tv. I’ve thrown out phrases like, “c’mon Duke, don’t ____ me!” and “did Winthrop even show up in the second half?” Anyway, here’s the best highlight from the first round. Let’s hope for many more like this.
